Electronic Arts is developing a Black Panther game

While Disney recently announced all the releases of the next phase of the MCU, with the upcoming arrival of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a video game seems to be in development. At the stage of mere rumor for the moment, relayed by Jeff Grubb during a live on Giant Bomb, the title would be developed by Kevin Stephens, former vice-president of Monolith, and published by Electronic Arts.

Currently called “Project Rainier”, this game Black Panther would only be at the beginning of its development. No release planned to accompany the next film therefore. This title would make the player embody the role of the protector of Wakanda, in a solo open world. One would expect to find a design close to Jedi Fallen Order or its sequel, effective without innovating too much. However, these are only rumors, and therefore information that should not be taken for granted.

Kevin Stephens has worked on games like Middle-earth: Shadow of War. It would therefore not be surprising to see inspirations of such a title found there, especially concerning the Nemesis system. But we can also expect other innovations, or more advanced gameplay features.
