A year after the release of “Buzz Lightyear”, Pixar studios return to the cinema with “Elementary”. The animators had also slipped a nod to this new film in the prequel to “Toy Story”. Did you notice it? (by Robin Ollitraut)
The star ball, the Luxo Jr. lamp, the Pizza Planet truck or even the code A113 (the number of a classroom at CalArts, an animation school in California): many are the recurring easter-eggs integrated into each Pixar productions.
Among them, a more subtle detail but always eagerly awaited by spectators: an element hidden in the decor which announces the next project of what can be called the “Pixar Cinematic Universe”.
Elementary, the new film from the studios, is no exception to the rule. Thus, in Buzz Lightyear, released in June 2022, we could see Flack – Wade in the original version, one of the main characters of Elementary – as the face of the mineral water brand “Wade Water”. We recognize the aquatic hero by his light blue color and his joyful mood on a bottle present in a dispenser.

This isn’t the first time the studios have gone this way to announce a new movie. In 2004, for example, in The Incredibles, we remember a car with dark blue bodywork resembling a certain Doc Hudson, the future mentor of Lightning McQueen from the film Cars released in 2006.

In Ratatouille, the shadow of a dog threatening the rat Remy was that of Doug, the talking doggie in Up. And in up there precisely, in 2009, it was the Lotso teddy bear from Toy Story 3 (2010) who invited himself into the room of a little girl who was amazed by the passage of the “balloon house” in front of her window!

Pixar does not intend to stop there, since the tradition now continues in Elementary. Fans have thus unearthed from the publication of the trailer for the film a clue announcing the next Pixar, called Elio.
In a flashback scene, which reveals the trauma of Flack as a child with a sponge, we can thus see a poster with the inscription “Join the space club” (i.e. “Join the space club”), as well as a planet logo.

An element that evokes the intergalactic adventure directed by Adrian Molina, expected on February 28, 2024 in French cinemas.
