(CercleFinance.com) – Eli Lilly announced last night the deployment, ‘later this year’ in the United States, of ‘Tempo’, a connected platform offering personalized diabetes management services.
The company says the technology is intended to help adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and clinicians make informed, data-based decisions to manage treatment with Lilly insulins.
The device consists of three key components, namely the Tempo Smart Button, the TempoSmart App and Tempo Pen. Coupled with Bluetooth, these elements make it possible to detect, store and transfer insulin dose data to the compatible application and provide personalized advice to adults with diabetes.
Outside the United States, Eli Lilly states that it has received CE marking certification (Conformité Européenne or European Conformity) for this device and plans to launch small-scale pilot projects in certain countries through the establishment of partnerships.
