The day after the 11th day of mobilization against the pension reform, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne went to Rodez this Friday for a day on the theme of health. An eventful visit since about 200 people were waiting for it.

Several hundred demonstrators learned Thursday evening of the arrival of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne in Aveyron to talk about health, the day after the 11th day of mobilization against the pension reform. In Rodez, where she was expected, trade unionists met with some yellow vests. Some call for the resignation of the head of government.

A diversion according to the demonstrators

Jean-François Chaliez, trade unionist at Unsa Santé, faces the CRS cordon which prevents them from passing. He does not want the government to use health to turn the page on pensions. “I work in a psychiatric hospital. We lack 15 to 20% of nursing positions. We can no longer recruit. The nursing diploma is no longer attractive. speak. But first that Madame Borne solves her problem with the social partners on pensions”, he complains at the microphone of Europe 1.

“We do not agree to possibly project people into two more years of career when they do not even finish it, their career”, adds the trade unionist. Daniel, who works in the technical service of the hospital, is also here and for him, it’s a diversion. Health deserves better, he said. “Maybe it wasn’t the right time for him to come here,” he remarks. “She could have come later to really talk about it, because there are things to do: there are needs. And it’s not just Rodez hospital, it’s all hospitals.”

Elisabeth Borne calls for “appeasement”

During her visit to Aveyron, the Prime Minister insisted on her perfect “alignment” with the President of the Republic and called for “appeasement in the country” in the face of the pension crisis. The government and the unions await Friday, April 14 a decision of the Constitutional Council on the conformity of the reform, which will be preceded the day before by a new day of mobilization of the unions.
