Elisabeth Borne will herself seize the Constitutional Council

Elisabeth Borne will go directly to the Constitutional Council for a review as soon as possible of the text of the pension reform, Matignon said Monday evening after the adoption of the bill.

The Prime Minister hopes that all the points raised during the debates can be examined, the same source added, in reference to the challenge by certain parliamentarians to the constitutionality of several measures.

The left has notably indicated that it wishes to seize the Constitutional Council, contesting in particular the fact that this reform can be carried out by means of a draft amendment to the Social Security budget.

The Constitutional Council must also examine the admissibility of a request for a referendum of shared initiative, initiated by the left to challenge the government’s project, and which was submitted to it on Monday.
