Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, a big update with a bunch of new things launched

Two years ago now, Frontier Developments was throwing Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, a huge expansion for its space game. Content that ultimately did not arrive on PS4 and Xbox One, but PC gamers can enjoy new content regularly with updates.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey Glaive 04

And justly, Frontier Developments launch this week Elite Dangerous: Odyssey’s 15th update, which will continue the war between humans and Thargoidsintroducing the Maelstroms, eight anomalies accessible thanks to the caustic gas clouds that appeared in the previous patch. But that’s not all, a lot of other new features are coming to the game, the developers detail:

This 15th update will also bring important new features to the game, such as the brand new class of Thargoid ship and new elements for land missions.

Commanders can prevent the Maelstrom Deactivation Pulse from affecting their ship by equipping it with the new Thargoids Pulse Neutralization Module, which will allow them to sink deeper into the gas clouds. An extraordinary spectacle awaits them inside, as well as new explorations and dozens of Thargoids ships.

Among them is the Glaive, the first Hunter-class Thargoid vessel added to Elite Dangerous, a starship equipped with fearsome power. This agile and aggressive vehicle behaves differently from other Thargoids vessels, being able to prevent human vessels from fleeing quickly. This addition to the enemy fleet means that commanders will have to rethink their strategic approach when they come across this ship.

This update will also bring a new type of ground mission to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. Commanders will experience these missions in starports affected by the Thargoid War, with the objective being to lead players to an abandoned settlement. Their mission will be to come to their aid by restoring the current in it. On the spot, they will have to face a new Thargoid scavenger variant called Revenanta powerful enemy sentry that demands more than just a gunfighting approach.

As commanders will soon discover when venturing into the Maelstrom themselves, the Thargoid war has only just begun.

Frontier Developments clarifies that players who only have the basic version ofElite Dangerous and playing in mode Live will be able to enjoy this narrative content without having purchased the extension Odyssey. You can find Elite Dangerous: Odyssey To €12.50 (-64%) on Gamesplanet.
