Talk host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi tied the knot again in a romantic ceremony.
Actress Portia de Rossi, 50, and her wife, popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, 65, have renewed their vows. De Rossi surprised her partner during her own 50th birthday celebrations on January 31 by wanting to tie the knot again. It can be seen in a video shared by the YouTube channel TheEllenShowas de Rossi approaches wife DeGeneres, who is clearly overwhelmed, in her original wedding dress from the couple’s 2008 wedding. In addition, the musician Brandi Carlile (41), one of the party guests, plays a soulful song live on the acoustic guitar.
Portia de Rossi: “I will always love you”
As seen in the romantic clip, Kris Jenner (67) suddenly stands next to the couple to complete the renewal of vows. She’s been a good friend of DeGeneres and de Rossi for years, and is also the mother of superstars Kim Kardashian, 42, and Kendall Jenner, 27. De Rossi assures her wife that she doesn’t have to say anything during the ceremony, which surprised her. She herself explains that she wants to remind her partner that she is the most important thing in their world. This, according to de Rossi, would make her milestone birthday “really special”.
“I will always love you. It is such an honor to be your wife,” de Rossi concludes, before the couple kiss to thunderous applause from the guests present. DeGeneres and de Rossi tied the knot in August 2008. In 2010, the actress officially changed her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres.
