The actor Elliot Page is divorcing his wife Emma Portner. In early 2018, he made their wedding public.
The relationship of the Canadian actor Elliot Page (33) and his wife Emma Portner (26) is about to end. Among other things, the US magazine "People" explained in a joint statement that they separated last summer and want to get a divorce. "TMZ" and "Page Six" had previously reported unanimously, citing available court documents, that Page filed for divorce in New York. So far, nothing is known about a possible reason for divorce. According to their statement, the actress and the dancer want to remain friends.
He made his marriage public three years ago
About three years ago, Page had published several romantic pictures on Instagram and shared with the world that he and Portner had married. At the beginning of January 2018, the actor wrote about the recordings: "I can't believe that I can call this extraordinary woman my wife."
The 33-year-old, who became famous as Ellen Page through films like "Hard Candy" and "Juno", had only announced that he was transgender via social media in December. "Hi friends, I want to let you know that I'm transgender, my pronouns are he / they and my name is Elliot," he said on Instagram. Portner then also expressed her support on the platform. She said she was very proud of her husband. The existence of Page is a "gift", she loves him "so much".
