After several months of fierce negotiationsabandoned contracts, in short constant ups and downs, Elon Musk has finally just bought the platform he has coveted for so long: Twitter!
Elon Musk and Twitter, it’s official!
On April 26, we announced the news: the director of Tesla bought back each share of the social network for $54.20, for a total sum of approximately $44 billion. Once the transaction is completed, Twitter would therefore become a private company owned by Elon Musk.
But for all this time and because of the indecision of the two parties to the negotiation, we did not know if Elon Musk was really going to acquire the platform… or not.
Last October 26the Space X executive tweeted a little joke on his account, saying he was going to meet “cool people” at Twitter headquarters.
It was yesterday that the doubt was finally lifted: Elon Musk has indeed acquired the platform and already has big ambitions for the latter. In addition to all this, he answered all those who speculated on the reasons for this acquisition in a clear and precise message.
Why did you buy Twitter?
In addition to citing the reasons that motivated him to buy the social network, this tweet confirmed the fact that Elon Musk is officially the owner. Tesla executive says that he wants Twitter to become above all a free common spacewhere everyone can express what they want, all with respect and non-violence.
Elon Musk says he wants “help humanity” with this takeover, by offering a platform open to all. With this, it would prepare the future of civilization by allowing users to find themselves within this digital public place.
On top of all this, Musk argues that Twitter will become “the most respected advertising platform in the world”, by offering businesses and users relevant content. In short, make useful publicity which can best target the desires of each person.
The leader of Space X therefore describes a bright future for one of the most used social networks in the world. While the transaction remains fairly new, we can’t wait to see what Elon Musk does with the platform. Will we be entitled to a transformed Twitter?
