With the Cybertruck, Elon Musk uses all superlatives and already announces it as a revolutionary product. Among the flagship promises, there is that of an epic sound system. We know more precisely on this point.
In December 2022, Elon Musk formalized the arrival of the Steam platform within Tesla. An essential step for those who want to make Tesla an unparalleled entertainment space. During this announcement, the billionaire also made another promise, concerning the Cybertruck this time.
According to the SpaceX boss, the electric pick-up will be entitled to a “epic sound system”. Of course, Elon Musk was careful not to give details of this equipment. Nevertheless, one sharp-eyed user found some clues about this audio system by carefully watching the videos posted during the Tesla Day conference on March 1, 2023.
Two subwoofers on the front of the Cybertruck
As user @MatthewDR points out, the Cybertruck’s low-voltage electrical architecture diagram holds a few surprises. Indeed, we notice the presence under the front seats of what appears to be two subwoofer speakers. According to the tweetos, it would therefore be two 8-inch subwoofers.
As a reminder, the sound experience within Teslas enjoys a good reputation. This success is due in particular to the work of the engineers recruited at Bang & Olufsen to design the audio system for the brand’s electric cars. The recent Model 3, X, Y and S are equipped with a surround sound system of 14 speakers, to which plus an 8-inch subwoofer.

Of course, we will have to wait to find out more about the technical specifications of the Cybertruck’s audio system… not to mention all the other important characteristics (range, engine, price, etc.) of the electric pickup.
For now and according to the schedule set by Elon Musk, mass production of the Cybertruck should begin in June 2023, with a launch scheduled for the start of the school year. Note also that some customers may be tempted to cancel their order before the Cybertruck arrives. Not long ago, Elon Musk admitted that the last Cybertrucks for pre-order will not be delivered before 2029! Blame it on the gigantic demand and a production limited to 250,000 copies per year.
