Elsewhere Entertainment: a new studio opened by Activision with veterans, and not to work on Call of Duty

For many months, the group Activision-Blizzard-King experiencing big upheavalswith obviously the buyout by Microsoftbut also because of numerous layoffs and reassignments which hurt. Toys for Bob was, for example, tasked with developing content for Call of Dutyhe decided to take off and become independent again.

But fortunately, at Activisionthere is not only Call of Duty. The editor has justannounce the opening ofElsewhere Entertainment, a new development studio based in Warsaw, Poland. Supported by teams in the United States, Elsewhere “is focused exclusively on creating a new, genre-defining, narrative-driven AAA franchise”. Very good promises, it must be said that the studio already counts in its ranks industry veterans who have worked on The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, destiny, Tom Clancy’s The Division or far cry.

Activision states thatElsewhere Entertainment will be “a leading autonomous studio dedicated to creating an environment that inspires bold and diverse ideas”, inspiring its staff to “explore and collaborate creatively to create a franchise with a lasting legacy that resonates far beyond the games”. Laudable ambitions, quite far from the credo ofActivisionwho is not really the type to take risks.

Let us now hope thatActivision And Elsewhere Entertainment keep their promises, expectations are already high, but we will undoubtedly have to wait a few years before discovering the first game from this young studio. You can find Spyro Reignited Trilogy from €29 on Amazon, Cdiscount And Fnac.
