Elton John insists that his farewell tour will be his last. The musician wants to spend more time with his family.

Elton John (74) confirms once again that his upcoming farewell tour “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” will be his last tour. The “Rocket Man” wants to spend more time with his husband David Furnish (58) and their sons Zachary (10) and Elijah (8). “I have to be with you” explains the music legend in an interview with the program “Today”. “I’ll be 76 when the tour is over. I don’t know how much time I’ll have on Earth after that.” Every day is “a bonus”.

“Will miss the reactions of the fans”

“I had enough applause,” continues Elton John. “I don’t want to travel anymore. I don’t want to be far from my family.” What he will miss, however, are the “reactions of the fans”. “You make my soul jump.” But he is now ready to hand over to the next generation of musicians. “The future lies in new music,” describes Elton John. For his new album “The Lockdown Sessions” (released on October 22nd) the musician has brought young talents such as Dua Lipa (26), Charlie Puth (29), Miley Cyrus (28) and Lil Nas X (22) on board .

His farewell tour “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” begins in January 2022 in the United States and takes the singer to Frankfurt and Leipzig in May 2022 and to Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Mannheim and Cologne in spring 2023. A total of 95 concerts are on the schedule in two years.
