Elton John turns his legendary party before the Oscars into a virtual event that anyone can attend for 17 euros.

Actually, Sir Elton John’s (73, “Candle in the Wind”) Oscar party has been part of the standard inventory for decades before the glamorous award ceremony, at which every celebrity likes to show off. But due to the corona pandemic, the British superstar has to move his legendary celebration to the Internet. This is how an elitist event becomes an event for everyone.

Because like Elton John announced on Instagram, fans from Europe and Great Britain can buy a ticket for 16.99 euros themselves on April 25th (local time) to take part in the approximately one-hour pre-party via live stream. Actor Neil Patrick Harris (47, “How I Met Your Mother”) was hired as a presenter. John announced the British pop singer Dua Lipa (25, “Future Nostalgia”) as the music act.

The proceeds from the event will benefit Elton John’s AIDS Foundation.
