Singer’s call: “Let out your inner Elton”

For a fundraising initiative, Elton John calls on fans to let out their “inner Elton”. Some celebs have already done so.
For around 31 years now, the British entertainer Elton John (76) has been fighting the immune deficiency disease with his “Elton John AIDS Foundation”. On his Instagram account and in a youtube video he has now presented his new fundraising initiative “The Rocket Fund”, with which he intends to raise 125 million dollars for the fight against AIDS within three years. His goal is to defeat the disease by 2030.

In order to draw as much attention as possible to his initiative, the singer, who is famous for his garish outfits and glasses, came up with something original: under the title “Let your inner Elton out” (“Let your inner Elton out”), supporters of the campaign in their “best Elton-inspired look” and then post the crazy pics on their social media channels using the hashtag #InnerElton. To help fans a little, he added: “Think sequins, sunglasses and bright colors. Or whatever makes you feel the real you.”
Less than 24 hours after it was called, over three hundred brightly colored supporter portraits. The most prominent faces include, among others Heidi Klum“How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris and the actors known from the series “Glee”. Amber Riley and Chris Colfer.
