Everything should be fine again in the Presley house: Riley Keough strikes a conciliatory tone after the inheritance dispute.

After months of inheritance disputes over Lisa Marie Presley’s (1968-2023) estate, her daughter Riley Keough (34) struck up a conciliatory tone in an interview with “Vanity Fair”. The relationship with her grandmother Priscilla Presley (78) is complicated, but they are a family.

“Everyone was a little panicked”

Keough graces the September issue of the magazine, which will be available from August 15th. In an interview, she said that Lisa Marie Presley’s death caused “a lot of chaos” in the family. “Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor melted away from under us.” She continued: “Everyone was a little bit panicked because they didn’t want to understand what was going on and it only took a minute to understand the details of the situation because it’s complicated.” She continued, “We’re family, but our family also has a big business side.” Because the legacy of cult singer Elvis is huge, it’s about many millions of dollars. It’s the first interview Keough has given since settling with her grandmother. On Tuesday (8 August), Vanity Fair announcedthe September issue on Instagram at.

“There was a bit of an uproar, but now everything will be as it was,” said the Elvis granddaughter, who had been appointed sole heir by her mother. “Everything that suggests otherwise in the press makes me sad,” because ultimately her grandmother wanted “to love and protect the Presley family and legacy.” Keough clarified that “things will be happy with Grandma” after “clarification is in place”, adding that the 78-year-old could “of course” be buried at Graceland “if she wants”.

Inheritance dispute between granddaughter and grandmother

Lisa Marie Presley died on January 12, 2023 at the age of 54 from complications of a small bowel obstruction. Shortly after her death, Priscilla Presley contested her daughter’s will. She contested a 2016 amendment that removed her as co-trustee and instead named Keough and her now-deceased brother Benjamin. After months of argument, Keough agreed to give her grandmother $1 million, as well as $400,000 to cover legal fees. Following the agreement reached in June, Priscilla Presley stressed: “Lisa’s wishes are the most important thing for all of us. My granddaughter, with her advice, has worked diligently and tirelessly together with my team to clear up any misunderstandings as a family.”

The inheritance dispute officially came to an end last week. As reported, among other things, by the US site “Deadline”., Riley Keough was appointed sole administrator of the estate. This decision was finally confirmed on Friday (August 4) before the Los Angeles Superior Court. The actress thus owns all of her late mother’s possessions – including the world-famous Graceland estate.
