After Kim Petras’ rejection, the new front woman for the EM song has been found: pop singer Leony steps in.
Pop singer and ex-DSDS juror Leony (26) will sing the official song for the 2024 European Football Championship. She gave the “crass” news on her Instagram account – together with the official mascot Albert – personally announced: “Finally I can tell you […] This year I can do the official song for Uefa Euro 2024.” It is “a huge honor,” she is visibly happy.
Leony flies to Miami
In a few days, Leony is going to Miami to get to know the fellow musicians with whom the piece is being developed. The Upper Palatinate native, Leonie Burger, will perform the EM song together with the US band One Republic and the Italian EDM group Meduza. The piece will be presented to the public for the first time in the coming weeks.
Leony replaces singer Kim Petras (31), who is said to have canceled again “due to scheduling difficulties”. as “Bild.de” reports.
The European Football Championship will be held from June 14th to July 14th in various stadiums in Germany. Host Germany will play against Scotland in the opening game on June 14th in Munich.
