Emergency lane created – ten people flown out of Raurisertal

Due to the storm in the Pinzgau, 10 people who had been cut off from the outside world were flown out of the Rauris Valley near Kolm Saigurn. Today an emergency lane is to be created for the remaining 40 people. Although one could leave the country on foot at any time, many are waiting for the road to be built.

Rauris Mayor Peter Loitfellner stated that many of the other 40 people would like to drive away. “Due to the completely destroyed road, this is not possible so quickly. That’s why we’re trying to build an emergency lane for these exits first,” says Loitfellner. But the most important thing is: “Everyone is well taken care of and well, there are no supply problems and there is constant contact.” The road should be finished tonight. At the same time, torrent and avalanche control works to bring the Rauriser Ache back to its creek bed.
