Emergency meeting of Ukraine’s security council on Friday


KYIV, Sept 29 (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky will chair an emergency meeting of the National Security Council on Friday during which “fundamental decisions” will be taken, the council’s secretary said on Thursday, a day before the annexation expected by Moscow of four regions of the country.

According to Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, “important and I think fundamental decisions for our country” will be taken. Danilov, who was interviewed by the Ukrainian channel 1+1, did not reveal any details.

The Ukrainian Security Council brings together, among other senior officials, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs. (Report Max Hunder, David Ljunggren, French version Jean-Stphane Brosse)
