This year, the show Married at first sight highlights courageous candidates who had to face personal tragedies at a very young age. After Alicia, who moved viewers by recounting the road accident that almost killed her, we discover Emilie. The 34-year-old candidate is also the mother of a one-and-a-half-year-old Lina. Completely fulfilled in her role as a mother, Emilie had to go through a trying pregnancy before experiencing maternal happiness.
The candidate of Married at first sight confided in her video portrait that she was abandoned by the father of her child while she was pregnant. While the doctors suspected an illness in the baby, her partner did not wish to assume his paternity, while Emilie felt ready to have her first child. The candidate therefore experienced her pregnancy alone, without the support of a partner.
Although aware of the challenge this represented, Emilie clung on, even if it meant sometimes experiencing moments of great distress. “My pregnancy, I spent it alone. I would have dreamed of having a man by my side in the maternity ward. I saw men with their wives while I was all alone in my poor room. cry”, confessed Emily.

Emilie had a serious hemorrhage during childbirth
Her pregnancy was morally exhausting but also physically dangerous. “When I gave birth, I hemorrhaged. I almost died with my daughter”, says Emily. If she survived this traumatic episode, she kept physical sequelae. “Even now, I feel sick from fatigue”, says Emily.
When Emilie participated in the show, her baby was only 5 months old. Embark on the adventure Married at first sight represents quite a challenge for Emilie. “I suffered. I had a big depression. I gained 35 kilos during my pregnancy. At the start of filming, I still had 15 left”, says Emily.
These difficult times have been overcome by Emilie, who today is madly in love with her little Lina. Supported by her mother who was very present, the candidate was able to recover from this ordeal.
