Eminem and Snoop Dogg make fools of themselves

The Metaverse dream is dead. The NFT market is down. Common Metaverse games are digital ghost towns. The hype is over. Could you believe! Ironically, the MTV Video Music Awards prepared to save the Lalaland of the Metaverse. And they dug deep into the cringe box. Very deep.

In a “historic” move, the stars set out to prove to the world that the Metaverse is totally cool, despite all the mocking Mark Zuckerberg selfies. The future! And so. Extremely up-to-date, the award show on August 28th awarded a prize for the “best performance in the Metaverse” for the first time. And had rappers Snoop Dogg and Eminem perform in the guise of their own Bored Apes NFTs.

First, the two rap legends shared an arm-length joint. Then, as poorly animated BAYC digital monkeys, they rapped their new song “From the D 2 the LBC,” an ode to smoking weed, making bucks and owning Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs.

Both stars have been trying their hand at part-time jobs as vocal and controversial NFT missionaries since purchasing Bored Apes a few months ago. In view of this performance, many questions arise: Who still watches the MTV Video Music Awards? And what do Eminem and Snoop Dogg actually smoke?

The Internet once again reacted to the umpteenth attempt by multimillionaires to hype their own NFTs with: spiteful mockery. It was most clearly expressed in this little crown jewel of anti-bored-ape propaganda:

The award for “Best Performance in the Metaverse” went to South Korean K-pop girl group Blackpink. He came by the way – no joke! – in the form of a “moon person”. The award went to an artistically high-quality three-minute commercial for the video game “PUBG Mobile”, in which the singers pose as digital avatars in front of crystalline flowers, ride motorbikes and sing “Lalalalala” at the end.

The attempt to save the Metaverse with MTV glamor has failed for the time being. But hey, actor Seth Green is coming out with a series starring Bored Apes. That should be… saaaaaucool!
