The airline Emirates has implemented a new strategy which consists of equipping its entire crew, i.e. 20,000 members, with Apple products. But for what concrete changes?

Recognized as one of the most innovative airlines, Emirates has launched an initiative called “One Device”, which is based on Apple products and aims to improve service on board its aircraft. More than 7,000 Emirates cabin crew use iPhones on some 450 daily flights. And that’s just the beginning.

Emirates relies on Apple to optimize the experience of its staff and customers

In the coming months, 5,000 additional crew members will receive iPhones and iPads equipped with new applications to enhance the success of this high-altitude technology transition.

With personalized apps, cabin crew can now take business class meal orders faster, with greater accuracy. Flight attendants also have access to last-minute flight information, seat changes and upgrades.

Crew members can see passengers’ meal and beverage preferences, as well as the size of their on-board loungewear, or whether it was used on previous flights. But the gains don’t stop there.

Strengthened data security

Safety is paramount in aviation. And even if the terms which follow have a strong marketing resonance, Emirates insists on saying that its crew has, thanks to the Apple firm’s products, access to assistance in Dubai (the company’s headquarters) and to 24/7 Apple support. Operational manuals are updated remotely, and the iPhone is used for continuing education through microlearning.

For Emirates, the choice of Apple was also important to ensure better protection of the privacy of its employees. By extension, the secure authentication by Face ID and the deletion of data after the flight convinced Emirates, which thus guarantees the security of the information.

By equipping its cabin crew with Apple products, Emirates offers an enriched customer experience, better in-flight performance and enhanced security. Enough to further strengthen its image as a prestigious company vis-à-vis its customers.
