fun, news, tips … what else?

Actress Emma Watson caused a sensation at the Earthshot Prize by wearing a recycled, asymmetrical dress. An eco-gothic outfit in line with this ceremony which rewards institutions, companies and associations acting for the ecological transition.

It had been a year since Emma Watson walked red carpets. On October 17, 2021, she came to award the Fix Our Climate prize to the company EAM Electrolyser, which produces hydrogen without using fossil fuels, as part of the Earthshot Prize. For the occasion, she wore an outfit created by Harris Reed, recycled from 10 dresses donated to the Oxfam association which fights against poverty.

This asymmetric white tulle dress opened at the back and was adorned with thin lace straps. Emma Watson paired it with oversized black elephant-leg pants and chunky ranger-type platform shoes, also black. An outfit that highlights the charisma of the actress and UN Women ambassador. Emma Watson’s approach complements her recent participation in the TED Countdown Climate Conference in Edinburgh. At the same time, she also decided to let a feminist collective speak on her Instagram account for the COP26 to be held in Glasgow in November 2021.

Emma Watson, Kate Middleton … When ecology invites itself on the red carpet

But the actress was not the only one yesterday to opt for slow fashion and up-cycling. Indeed, the Duchess of Cambridge and Earthshot Prize presenter, Kate Middleton, wore a hyper-glamorous Alexander McQueen dress, in which we had already seen it in 2011. This trend of eco-responsibility on the red carpet has even crossed the Atlantic. The proof, Zahara, Angelina Jolie’s daughtertarget = “_ blank”>, appeared on the same day, during the promotion of the film The Eternals, in which her mother plays wearing an Elie Saab dress. This piece had already been worn by Angelina Jolie at the 2014 Oscars ceremony.
