Emma Watson (30, "Beauty and the Beast") has not only made a name for herself with her role as Hermione Granger in the world-famous "Harry Potter" film series. The actress is now also considered a fashion icon and has modeled for British fashion labels such as Burberry, among others. This work has obviously paid off.
Watson was appointed to the supervisory board of the French luxury group Kering. The company announced this on its official Twitter account. "Kering is proud to announce that Emma Watson, along with Jean Liu Qing and Tidjane Thiam, has joined the board. Their appointment was approved by Kering's shareholders at the group's general meeting and proposed by the board in March," Kering wrote.
In addition to Watson's fashion consciousness, her commitment to eco-labels seems to have been a key argument for her new job. For example, Kering describes her on his homepage as a "pioneer for sustainable fashion", on which the company attaches great importance.
From Gucci to Alexander McQueen
Kering has numerous luxury brands, including Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Brioni. In addition to Watson, Jean Liu Qing (42), head of the Chinese transport company Didi Chuxing, and Tidjane Thiam (57), ex-boss of the Swiss bank Credit Suisse, were also brought in.
The fact that the group is headquartered in Paris shouldn't be a problem for Watson. The 30-year-old was born in the capital of France and is fluent in French as well as English.
