Emmanuel Macron and Edouard Louis have, a priori, nothing in common. The first, aged 43, is President of the Republic. The second, aged 28, is a writer, author, among others, ofEnding Eddy Bellegueule and of Who killed my father, two great literary successes. Apart from the fact that the former has long dreamed of writing, nothing seems to bring these two men together. But by observing more closely, the journalist Hervé Algalarrondo finds them many similarities, starting with their childhood in Picardy, between Amiens and Vimeu. By bringing their Two French youths, Hervé Algalarrondo describes a common destiny: that of "Tear themselves away from their city, their childhoods, their families" for “Flee to the Capital (…) fulfill their personal destiny and make a name for themselves.” Both men will succeed. For his book, published on January 20, 2021 published by Grasset, the author traveled through Picardy, which he knows well from his personal history. Hervé Algalarrondo also reunited with former teachers Emmanuel and Edouard, but also “Very close or old friends”, in the hope of (re) discovering “The little-known stories and dreams of our young Rastignac.” In his book, Hervé Algalarrondo discusses at length the birth of the relationship between Emmanuel Macron and the theater teacher who will become his wife, Brigitte Macron. Their bond is born thanks to the rewriting of a play, The Art of Comedy, which will allow them to spend a lot of time together, “Every Friday afternoon”… at the home of the teacher, married, whose name at the time was "Brigitte Auzière."
Manette, Emmanuel Macron’s grandmother, opposed to any legal action?
The author returns in particular to the discovery of their history – when they are 24 years apart – by the parents of the high school student. “Brigitte has already been summoned by Emmanuel’s parents”, can we read. “It was not in their power to prevent performances of the play, but with them ends the year of the theater club and the school holidays are approaching. No other protagonist or witness has confirmed to me that the affair came close to escalating. ” More than two decades later, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron are, however, still married.
