February 16 (Reuters) – Emmanuel Macron expressed his “anger” and “indignation” on Friday after the Russian prison service announced the death in prison of opponent Alexeï Navalny.
“In today’s Russia, free spirits are put in the gulag and sentenced to death. Anger and indignation,” declared the head of state on the X platform.
Emmanuel Macron praised the memory of the opponent, as well as his “commitment” and his “courage”. “Thoughts for his family, his loved ones and for the Russian people,” he said. (Jean-Stéphane Brosse)
