On January 24, during his trip to Haute-Vienne, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron decided to treat himself to a rather special night, far from the prefecture where heads of state usually sleep.
Small breach of the rules. During his trip to Haute-Vienne on January 24, Emmanuel Macron took advantage of the trip to spend the night in a not very formal but charming establishment. It is customary that the Heads of State, when they are on the move, sleep in the prefecture. This allows in particular to put the necessary security measures in place. Yet on the evening of January 24, the President of the Republic has decided that he is going to sleep in a guest room. According to Parisianit is therefore in the small town of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, about twenty kilometers from the city of Limoges, that Emmanuel Macron settled for the night in order to recharge the batteries before his busy program of the January 25.
The name of the guest house in question? Le Jardin des lys, managed by Carole Pagès who answered a few questions from the Parisian about the arrival of the President of the Republic. “I had been warned that a political personality was going to sleep at my house” she began by explaining. Only the one who deals with what our colleagues describe as “a magnificent residence of the 19and century in the town center” did not expect to see the president land in person. “I was surprised to see that it was the president!”. And the latter took the trouble to learn a little more about the places where he spent the night. “We exchanged a few words about the history of this magnificent house and he went to bed“continued Carole Pagès.

This brief exchange was not, however, the first time that the manager of the Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat guest house spoke to the President of the Republic. In October 2020, when she was president of the merchants’ association, she had sent a letter to Emmanuel Macron to draw his attention to a problem in his environment. His letter was intended to alert him to the danger that online sales platforms represent for the local economy. the Parisian does not specify whether, at the time, Carole Pagès had received an answer, nor even whether she took advantage of the president’s visit to his guest house to raise the subject once again. Always according to ParisianEmmanuel Macron had a breakfast full of vitamins before thanking the owner and leaving a few words in the guestbook of the establishment as proof of his visit.
