The 44-year-old politician has found all his support to express himself with a symbolic background: the Eiffel Tower.
Five years after arriving at the foot of the Louvre pyramid where he celebrated his victory with 66.1% of the vote on May 7, 2017, Emmanuel Macron chose the Champ-de-Mars as the place to make his first post-second round speech. and its Eiffel Tower. “Thank you”, began by saying a very smiling and moved Emmanuel Macron. “This day of April 24, 2022, a majority of you have chosen to trust me for the next 5 years. (…) This vote obliges me” he continued, addressing those who voted for him, like those who abstained – around 17 million people – and those who chose Marine Le Pen. “Their anger must find an answer. It’s my responsibility and that of those around me“, added the re-elected President of the Republic, ready for “five years betterx”.
His wife since 2007 then joined him on the stage, while a singer sang The Marseillaise that the presidential couple sang alongside him. Questioned by France 2, Brigitte Macron expressed her immense emotion: “We never get used to it. It is such a great honor, I hope to be worthy of it. (…) We all want things to change. This is what I wish with all my heart. I’m so happy for him. I lived these five years of work. (…) I have immense confidence in him.“
