Emmanuel Macron wants to organize the biggest sports competitions in France in 2024

France is among the countries most involved in global esports, whether in terms of structures, players but also organized events. Among the most important sporting event organized in the countrywe obviously find the 2019 Worlds final at the AccorHotels Arena in Bercy. This is a real means of international influence and Emmanuel Macron has understood this well. The President of the Republic declared during an interview with The Big Whale want to host the biggest world events in 2024.

In fact, that year the Olympic Games, the biggest sporting event in the world, would take place in Paris and the current President of the Republic wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to “make the link between the Olympiads of the two worlds“. More specifically, this means that he wishes to welcome a Major from CS:GO, The International on Dota 2 but also the worlds of League of Legends. It is simply of the three most iconic competitions in esports and to achieve this goal, it will be very complicated.

Finally, I don’t forget esports, another area of French excellence, with teams like Team Vitality or Karmine Corp. We have, in this regard, a historic opportunity: that of the 2024 Olympic Games. It is up to us to take advantage of it to make the link between the Olympiads of the two worlds by hosting the biggest sporting events in the world that year: a CS major :GO, the Worlds of League of Legends and The International of Dota 2

Yes Worlds of League of Legends seems possible to organize in 2024 since they will not take place in Europe during the next three editions, the others are more uncertain. The International is particularly questionable given that the French scene of Dota 2 is almost not developed. With the exception of Sebastien “Ceb” DebsFrance does not have any figure in the game and other countries will probably have priority to organize this emblematic competition.

On the Major’s side of CS:GO, this seems achievable given that France remains a country involved in the game with one of the best players in the world who is French. Moreover, two French teams won the competition and several have made history with legendary actions. In fact, it would not be shocking to see Valve settling in France to organize its biggest competition of the year.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait until 2024 to know if all this will happen but hosting these three events in the same year would be a great opportunity for France. In addition to the influence they would bring, it would also be an opportunity to prove to the whole world that the country is a pillar of esports. We can also hope that if that happened, they would not all take place in Paris because other cities like Lyon, Lille, Marseille or Bordeaux can organize such events.
