Yesterday, TF1 and France 2 devoted their morning to the ceremony of “reinvestiture” of the president of the Republic which probably did not interest the televiewers.
On Saturday, Emmanuel Macron, re-elected for a second term as President of the Republic, was officially reinvested in the highest office of the State. Live from the Palais de l’Élysée, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, the ceremony was broadcast on television. From 10:15 a.m., TF1 offered a special edition. At the controls, Gilles Bouleau was accompanied by Adrien Gindre, head of the political department of TF1 and LCI. On the set, they notably received Marie Chantrait, journalist accredited to the Élysée; Pierre Servent, military consultant; Henri Guaino, former adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy; and Pierre-René Lemas, former Secretary General of the Élysée.
For its part, France 2 went on the air at 10:30 a.m. with Jean-Baptiste Marteau and Nathalie Saint-Cricq, political columnist. Both hosted Raphaëlle Bacqué, senior reporter at the Worldas well as Daniel Jouanneau, who directed the protocol of the French Republic from 1993 to 1997.

Viewers probably preferred Two to One. Indeed, according to Médiamétrie, they were 1.36 million, or 20.2% of audience share, to follow this investiture ceremony on France 2. Against 1.11 million people, or 17.7% of PDA , on TF1. Scores well below five years ago.
On May 14, 2007, the transfer of power between François Hollande and Emmanuel Macron had, in fact, been followed on average by 6 million viewers, or 26.8% of audience share. In detail, on France 2, the ceremony commented by Laurent Delahousse, had brought together 3.4 million people, or 28.9% of PDA. For its part, the special edition of TF1, presented by Anne-Claire Coudray and Gilles Bouleau, had gathered 2.7 million viewers, or 24.8% of the public.
