Guest of the morning of Europe 1, Sébastien Chenu, spokesman for the National Rally and vice-president of the National Assembly, believes that the pension reform carried out by the government, despite strong opposition, is the result of ” a submission to the European Union which asks it to reform our pension system”.

At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, Sébastien Chenu, spokesperson for the National Rally and vice-president of the National Assembly, returned to the government’s pension reform project. He thinks this reform is indicative of “an obsession of Emmanuel Macron who is a kind of permanent accountant, he looks at things through a financial prism only”.

The Vice-President of the National Assembly also believes that this pension reform is the fruit of “a submission (by Emmanuel Macron, editor’s note) to the European Union which pushes him to reform our pension system”.

“Our system has become surplus again”

According to the spokesperson for the National Rally, the pension reform is not necessary because “the Pensions Orientation Committee says that our system has become surplus again”. “Above all, the Treasury says that since many French people retire being unemployed or sick, increasing the retirement age to 64 means increasing social expenditure, unemployment insurance expenditure. I believe that in reality his project will lead us to ruin”, he added.
