On social networks, Prince Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy expressed his immense sorrow through a press release written in Italian: “It is a great comfort to me to know that through faith our dialogue will not be interrupted. It can still continue today. In fact, not even death can break this intense, living bond that unites us.” Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy had already spoken after the death of his father, confessing to Paris Match that he thought especially of his mother, Princess Marina, who spent more than 60 years of her life with her husband.

As the son of the crown prince, he now takes on a new responsibility. Prince Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy has the duty to lead the prestigious House of Savoy. “I am preparing for this difficult task”, he specifies. “I am more aware than ever that the family unit is the greatest resource to meet this challenge. The Maison de Savoie must continue to bear witness to the richness of a tradition and a history dating back more than a thousand years. This is a commitment I am making today. Thank you to all the Italians who have supported us during these painful days.
