The Emmy Awards will be presented in September. Series fans will find out which productions have been nominated in July.

The Emmy Awards, the most important US television prize, will be awarded on September 12 in 2022. They have Television Academy and the NBC television network. The 74th award ceremony begins at 2:00 a.m. German time on the night of the following Tuesday. It is currently not known whether local series fans can join the excitement live.

In addition to the Oscars, the Tony Award and the Grammy, the Emmy Award is one of the most important prizes in the US entertainment industry. At last year’s awards, series from different streaming services dominated the competition – above all “The Crown”.

“The Crown” cleared 2021

The Netflix series entered the race as a big favorite and was able to assert itself in this role with seven awards. The series about the British royal family prevailed against competitors such as “Bridgerton”, “The Boys” and “The Mandalorian” as “Best Drama Series”. Olivia Colman (48) was honored as best leading actress in a drama series, her colleague Josh O’Connor (31) as best leading actor.

“Ted Lasso” won a total of four awards, including Best Comedy Series, while “Hacks” and “Mare of Easttown” received three awards each. “The Queen’s Gambit,” meanwhile, was honored as “Best Miniseries.” Streaming services such as Netflix, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video or HBO Max are likely to be very popular again this year. It is not yet known who will lead the evening. The nominations are to be announced on July 12.
