The nominees for the 75th Emmy Awards have been announced. These actors and series can look forward to a nomination.

On Monday, September 18, the prestigious Emmy Awards will be presented in the USA for the 75th time. This Thursday (July 12), the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences the full list of nominees announced. The HBO series “Succession”, which ended in May, received the most nominations, namely 27.

Shows from HBO are also in the other places: “The Last of Us” has 24 nominations and “The White Lotus” has 23. “Ted Lasso” from the streaming service Apple TV + grabs fourth place with 21 nominations in absolute numbers Place.

The nominees in the category “Drama”

“Succession” is nominated for “Best Drama Series” of the year. In addition, Brian Cox (77), Jeremy Strong (44) and Kieran Culkin (40) can look forward to a nomination in the category “Best Actor in a Drama Series”. Sarah Snook (35) completes the success of HBO’s critics’ favorite as a nominee in the category “Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series”.

In addition to “Succession”, three other HBO productions can look forward to nominations in the royal category “Best Drama Series”. These are “The White Lotus”, “House of the Dragon” and the video game adaptation “The Last of Us”. The two stars of the latter show – Pedro Pascal (48) and Bella Ramsey (19) – are also nominated for Lead Actor and Lead Actress in the Male and Female Drama categories, respectively.

The Netflix series “The Crown”, “Better Call Saul” and the “Star Wars” series “Andor” complete the field of nominees in the category “Best Drama Series”. “Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk (60) is also nominated for “Best Actor in a Drama Series”.

Balanced comedy field

In the field of comedy series, however, no clear favorite for this year’s Emmy Awards has emerged. The shows “Wednesday”, “Ted Lasso”, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Only Murders in the Building”, “Barry”, “The Bear”, “Abbott Elementary” and “Jury Duty” are nominated for “Best Comedy series” nominated.

Some actors from these series can also look forward to a nomination. These include “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” star Rachel Brosnahan (33) and “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega (20) for women, and Bill Hader (“Barry”), Martin Short (“Only Murders in the Building” ) and Jason Sudeikis (“Ted Lasso”) for the men.

“Dahmer” and “Beef” dominate in the miniseries

Last but not least, miniseries and their leading actors have also been nominated for an Emmy. The Netflix series “Beef” has been nominated for “Best Miniseries”, as has leading actress Ali Wong (41) and her male counterpart Steven Yeun (39). The Netflix show “Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer” should also be a big favorite in the field of mini-series. Leading actor Evan Peters (36) is nominated here, as is the series itself in the “Best Miniseries” category.

The 75th Emmy Awards honor the best series and TV shows released between early June 2022 and late May 2023. In addition to the categories mentioned here, there are many more, such as “Best Supporting Actor”, “Best Guest Actor”, “Best Production Design”, “Best Camera” or the direction of individual episodes of a series.
