End of Ankama Authenticator: What to do? -Gamosaurus

Ankama authentication application bows out on
January 15, 2024. After several years of good and loyal service, Authenticator users will have to switch to other means to secure their accounts.

Ankama ends its Authenticator in 2024

The action is no surprise. The Authenticator app was a small antique despite its practicality. It had not been up to date for some time and since November 1st, was no longer even available on the Google Play Store. For security, having obsolete software is really not ideal and the situation has been going on for a while, due to lack of new development on Authenticator.
Ultimately, the Ankama Authenticator will see its end Monday January 15, 2024. It will then no longer be possible to validate your identification via the application. This obviously concerns all Ankama games (Dofus, Wakfu, Waven, etc.)

What should Authenticator be replaced with?

Ankama does not plan to develop an equivalent solution for the moment. Players who do not change their authentication method by January will then have to validate their connection by email. You can also choose to make this your default method by activating the “Shield” option on your Ankama account, in your settings.

Since November 14, it is also possible to connect a third-party application for 2-factor authentication. These are the same ones that can already be used for Discord in particular, such as FreeOTP, Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator. Between now and January 15, remember to adjust your settings carefully, especially if you are no longer sure that this is the correct email address you are currently using.
