While the management of the public service channels had announced its desire to remove the national editions of the JT from France 3, the unions called for a strike on Monday to protest against this decision. If management advances a desire for “proximity to viewers”, for the unions, this would above all reduce costs.
A call for a strike was launched on Monday at the Paris headquarters of France Télévisions. The unions intend to protest against the suppression of the national editions of the newspapers of France 3: 12/13 and 19/20. At the beginning of July, the group’s management announced that it wanted to transform these newspapers into twenty-four local editions, renamed “ICI midi” and “ICI soir”. Newspapers that would mainly cover topics on national and international news.
Management advances a desire for “proximity to viewers”
Let’s defend the national news of @france3tv!
This Monday, September 12, let’s be on strike and mobilized! Let’s refuse the Tempo project, which attacks France 3 and in particular 12/13 and 19/20, pillars of news on the channel.

A project far from convincing the unions who fear that it is more a cost reduction operation than a real desire for “proximity to viewers”, as had been underlined by management. “Let’s refuse the Tempo project,” insisted the unions in a press release.
