I’ve seen some smartphones with quite large batteries, the largest probably being the Doogee S100 Pro with its colossal 22,000 mAh battery. But a new smartphone unveiled at MWC 2024 surpasses it…
This week, Avenir unveiled a new smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, called the Energizer Hard Case P28K. In short, it’s essentially a phone built around a big battery!
28,000 mAh!
Does the name confuse you? Does it remind you of anything? It’s understandable. Avenir licensed the Energizer name from the battery maker.
Still, the technical sheet of the Energizer Hard Case P28K is rather tasteless:
- 6.78” 1080p LCD screen
- Android 14
- MediaTek Helio G99 MT6789 octa-core processor
- 8 GB RAM
- 256 GB of storage,
- 60, 20 and 2 megapixel rear camera
- 16 megapixel front camera
- 4G support (no 5G)
- Protection rating IP69
But it’s at the battery level that things get spicy!
The battery is a behemoth of 28,000 mAh! Yes, 28,000 mAh! Which gives the phone a battery life of almost 5 days in conversation and almost 100 days in standby…

567 grams!
It’s crazy, right?
But the large capacity of the battery comes with a large size: you have to assume! This device is approximately 2.8 cm thick, three times the thickness of an iPhone 15, and it weighs approximately… 567 grams! Unless you have large, deep pockets (and a good belt), this device won’t fit in your pocket.
I did some research on it, and it looks like it will go on sale next October and will cost around $270.
If you don’t want to wait and want to get your hands on a smartphone with a giant battery today, then the Doogee S100 Pro is the device for you. It’s the same thickness, but it’s lighter (around 400g), which makes it a little easier to carry. It also offers a standby time of almost 98 days.
