Energy: a “malfunction” costs 60 million euros to Electricity of Strasbourg


The Alsatian energy company issued “market transactions […] erroneously in quantity”, obliging him to repair his error at a high price.

Last Friday, Electricité de Strasbourg specified that these operations “generated an estimated cost of 60 million euros“. This error occurs in a context where the main shareholder of the company, EDF, is in great financial difficulty, and must gradually relaunch its network of nuclear power plants to face a winter which promises to be tense.
