The secretary general of the CGT, Philippe Martinez, lambasted Tuesday on RFI “a form of disconnection from reality“, from the President of the Republic, after his new appeal to the “sobriety” Monday.

“It is a form of disconnection from reality and the experience of millions of households. Those who are deprived of jobs, those who earn 700 euros a month (…) they are even below sobriety“, estimated Philippe Martinez, questioned on the invitation of Emmanuel Macron to lower the heating and the air conditioning in the offices and the hearths.
The President of the Republic should rather address himself to “those who take advantage of this crisis to make a lot of money, rather than making citizens feel guilty“, he continued.
Mr Macron on Monday urged the French to “be at the rendezvous of sobrietyto avoid gas and electricity rationing this winter.
“A good part of this effort, the most effective thing is to turn down the air conditioning a little when it’s hot (…) and it’s to try to settle on a heating reference as soon as it’s will start to get cold around 19 degrees in the room“, he enjoined.
