ENERTIME
(FR0011915339 – ALENE), a French “CleanTech” company serving industrial energy efficiency and the production of geothermal and biomass energy, announces its participation in the HURRICANE project which officially begins on January 1, 2024.
The project is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program (Grant Agreement number 101138494) and will receive a grant of approximately €19.09 million over 5 years.
HURRICANE aims to create a circular ecosystem on the ArcelorMittal site in Ghent, Belgium. It will enable efficient resource management as well as the recovery and use of heat and water from wasted industrial waste: this will lead to a reduction in energy, water and raw materials of at least 20%.
In this context, Enertime will develop and manufacture a heat pump to produce heat at 120°C which will be used in the industrial processes of the circular ecosystem which will be created around ArcelorMittal Ghent.
For its participation in the HURRICANE project, Enertime benefits from a subsidy of 1.86 million euros during the duration of the project. The results of the demonstrator will be used as a reference to demonstrate the applicability of such a solution in the industry.
