ENERTIME: ENERTIME WELCOMES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A GREEN TAX CREDIT FOR HEAT PUMPS AND PROVIDES A PROGRESS REPORT ON ITS ACTIVITY IN THIS FIELD – 05/15/2023 at 08:00

ENERTIME

(FR0011915339 – ALENE), a French “CleanTech” company serving energy efficiency and industrial decarbonization, reports on the company’s progress in the market for very high temperature heat pumps for industry.

ACCELERATION OF THE HEAT PUMP MARKET

ENERTIME welcomes the French government’s announcement on the establishment of a “green industry tax credit” to support, among other things, the production of heat pumps. Its objective is to accelerate the reindustrialization of the country by releasing 20 billion investment in all territories by 2030. This tax will thus allow the innovative French energy transition industry to fight on equal terms with global competition. . Finally, it will allow the rise of this technology in industrial applications in France.

ENERTIME is developing Heat Pump technology to produce superheated water or steam up to 150°C for industrial applications with a minimum thermal power of 3 Megawatts. These systems, adapted to the process of each plant, recover unused residual heat to produce useful heat while consuming approximately 3 times less electricity than an electric boiler. These solutions also greatly reduce the carbon footprint of manufacturers by consuming renewable or low-carbon electricity.

Recent industrial interest in this technology is linked to global industry’s decarbonisation efforts combined with the need to reduce Europe’s dependence on natural gas, with a sustained pace of consultations with potential customers over the past year. The first applications identified concern drying operations in the food industry, paper mills, and the gypsum-based materials industry, as well as for distillation. The relevance of this technology being much broader and concerns many other industrial sectors.

ENERTIME is developing its technology through a pilot project in France in 2018 and the European PUSH2HEAT project, funded by Horizon-Europe, launched in October 2022, for which it will install a Heat Pump with a thermal power of 3 Megawatts to produce heat. steam at 142°C in a paper mill in Italy. Since the beginning of 2023, ENERTIME has signed four preliminary studies for four heat pump systems with manufacturers in Europe and Canada. These studies are intended to validate the applicability of Heat Pump systems with a thermal power of 3 to 4 Mega Watts to the processes in which they will be integrated. Achievements, linked to these studies, partly financed by innovation aid contracts, should follow at the end of 2023 or in 2024.

Olivier LE BOURHIS, in charge of the Heat Pump activity at ENERTIME, announces:

“Enertime is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-power Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) machines and associated turbomachines. Very high temperature, high power heat pumps call on skills very similar to those we have developed over fifteen years in the ORC field. We have already been working for several years to develop this Heat Pump technology intended to recover industrial waste heat to produce useful heat to replace natural gas boilers. This is based in particular on the in-house design and manufacture of high-temperature compressors that do not exist on the market. The recent upheavals created by the Russian aggression in Ukraine and the urgency of decarbonizing European industry have made this technology one of the strategic technologies for the decarbonization of European industry and for energy independence. from Europe. »

ABOUT ENERTIME

Founded in 2008, ENERTIME designs, develops and implements thermodynamic machines and turbomachines for industrial energy efficiency and decentralized production of renewable energy.

ENERTIME’s ORC machines transform heat into electricity, Heat Pumps produce high temperature heat with lower temperature heat and electricity. Gas expansion turbines recover the energy lost in the gas distribution networks to produce electricity and cold. On the high power industrial Heat Pump market (up to 150°C, for 3 Mega Watts thermal and more), ENERTIME is one of the few global players in an embryonic market. On the ORC market, ENERTIME is one of the four main world players and the only French company fully mastering this technology of high-power machines (1 MW and more).

Based in Ile de France, ENERTIME has 60 employees, including 30 engineers.

ENERTIME is listed on the Euronext Growth market. ISIN: FR0011915339 – Mnemo: ALENE. More information at https://www.enertime.com
