(CercleFinance.com) – Safran, via its Safran Corporate Ventures fund, and Engie, via its venture capital subsidiary ENGIE New Ventures, announced yesterday that they are investing in the German start-up Ineratec, which specializes in the production of carbon-neutral synthetic fuels.
Engie New Ventures’ investment aims to promote the development of a carbon-free fuel offer for the heavy transport sector while contributing to Engie’s objectives in terms of green hydrogen and CO2 reduction for its customers.
‘We are proud to invest in a startup that combines innovative solutions with the ambition to accelerate carbon neutrality. Hydrogen and e-fuels will play an important role in the decarbonisation of heavy mobility such as maritime, rail or air transport”, underlines Olivier Sala, Vice-President of Research and Innovation at Engie.
“This investment will support Engie’s ambitious strategy to deploy 4 GW of green hydrogen production capacity by 2030,” he adds.
