Engie, TotalEnergies… Here are the cheapest offers since the end of the regulated gas tariff

The regulated gas tariff disappeared a week ago and customers who did not choose a new contract automatically switched to the Passerelle offer. Is it the most advantageous for consumers? MoneyVox offers you an update on the offers available on the market.

The regulated gas tariff ended on Friday 30 June. For more than 2 million customers, this is an important change since they have to change their contract. For those who have not made a decision before the fateful date, they have been redirected to the Passerelle offer offered by Engie. The switch was automatic to this market offer, which can be canceled at any time, and the price of which will change every month based on the price set by the Energy Regulation Commission (CRE).

The price includes and the Gateway offer

From July 1, therefore, Passerelle customers will pay 0.10818 euros including tax for small households consuming up to 3,999 kilowatt hours (KWh) per year, and between 0.08248 and 0.08620 for those whose needs are higher. To this price which applies to consumption, it will be necessary to add the price of the subscription – between 102.12 euros and 249.84 euros per year – and taxes. In its quoted price, CRE considers that an offer with a price of 0.10488 euro per KWh (hot water and cooking) and 0.08195 euro per KWh (heating) is acceptable.

The geographical zone of the home also has its importance on the price since France is divided into 6 zones (for example, Lille, Lyon or Nantes are in zone 1 the least expensive, Paris, Limoges or Toulon in zone 2, Chamonix or Beaumont in zone 6 the most expensive). These geographical breakdowns were made according to the distance between the nearest gas storage center and the final place of consumption.

23 gas contracts are offered

And on the comparator of the energy mediator, which offers draw their pin from the game? We have chosen to use the typical historical profiles used by CRE in its quarterly barometer. Our two clients live in Rennes, which is located in zone 2, and are holders of the Passerelle d’Engie contract.

A typical customer at the Base d’Engie regulated tariff with an annual consumption of 750 kWh (cooking use). Based on the price quoted, our client must pay 182 euros per year but pays 184 euros with Passerelle. 22 offers are offered to him but only 3 are more advantageous financially and one is equivalent:

  • GazWeb offer from OHM – 173 euros per year
  • Special gas offer from TotalEnergies – 173euros per year
  • Biogas classic from Mint Energie – 178euros per year

A price that includes the subscription, the cost of which is equivalent to these three offers: 102 euros, or more than 60% of the annual bill.

Also note the 1-year Gaz Zen offer from Alterna. She stands out from the crowd by the reassuring side she carries. In effect, it is a fixed price offer whose price per kilowatt hour will not change for 12 months. Its equivalent at Engie, Gaz Tranquilit 1 year, costs 10 euros more per year. Wekiwi also offers a fixed offer for 1 year but 197 euros per year. As a reminder, this term only binds the supplier, not the customer who can change the contract as he sees fit.

Beyond these 4 offers, prices soar quickly. Note an offer blocks 4 years at EDF whose annual rate is 220 euros. Finally, the most expensive offer is billed at 264 euros per year, including 171 euros for subscription.
