(CercleFinance.com) – Engie announces that as part of the compensation process in connection with the ScotWind tenders earlier this year, Crown Estate Scotland has awarded Ocean Winds, the 50-50 joint venture between ENGIE and dedicated to offshore wind, two additional seabed leases for floating offshore wind projects.
These leases relate to a site with a capacity of 1.8 GW in partnership with Mainstream Renewable Power, and another with a capacity of 500 MW.
These projects are located east of the Shetland Islands at depths that will require floating technology. As a pioneer for over 10 years in floating projects such as WindFloat Atlantic in Portugal, OW is uniquely positioned to support the growth of the floating wind sector in Scotland.
