Eni: delivers more LNG to Italy in anticipation of winter

(CercleFinance.com) – As part of its plan to strengthen and diversify Italy’s gas supply, Eni has started supplying additional volumes of liquefied natural gas to the Panigaglia regasification terminal (La Spezia) in anticipation of winter 2022-2023.

The first shipment was delivered on Sunday with supplies from Angola. Further LNG deliveries from Egypt and Algeria are expected in October.

The overall contribution of additional LNG volumes to Italy, thanks to the availability of the regasification terminals under development, will exceed 2 billion cubic meters between 2022 and 2023.

It will gradually reach 7 billion between 2023 and 2024, and will exceed 9 billion cubic meters between 2024-2025, in addition to the additional supplies that will be delivered by gas pipeline.
