Eni: presents its strategic plan 2022-2025


(CercleFinance.com) – Claudio Descalzi, Managing Director of Eni, today presented the company’s strategic plan for 2022-2025, which emphasizes ‘a just energy transition’ and ‘the creation of value to stakeholders.

In particular, Eni intends to accelerate its decarbonization objectives, with a target of reducing scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 35% by 2030 and 80% by 2040, compared to the reference year 2018. Previously, the objectives were -25% and -65%.

While reducing emissions, Eni will develop a growing offer of fully decarbonized energy solutions for its customers, with 15 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, biorefining capacity of 6 MTPA (million tonnes per year) over the next decade, while hydrogen will contribute with 4 MTPA by 2050.

To finance this growth, Eni will increase the share of investments for new energy solutions to almost 30% by 2025, doubling to 60% by 2030 and up to 80% around 2040.
