A terrible accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on the infamous Ennstalstrasse near Mitterberg-St.Martin: A 53-year-old woman drove her car off the road, crashed into parked cars and immediately caught fire. The driver died at the scene of the accident.
At around 1:20 p.m., a 53-year-old was driving her car on the B 320. For an unknown reason, the woman veered off the right side of the road at a popular biker meeting point and crashed her car into the concrete base of a bike passage. The vehicle was subsequently catapulted into the air and crashed into several vehicles parked in front of the restaurant. The accident car and the parked vehicles immediately caught fire. Any help came too late for the vehicle occupant; the woman from the Liezen district died at the scene of the accident. No other people were injured. The extent of the damage is currently unknown.
