“Enola Holmes 2”: The junior detective is back

Enola Holmes is overshadowed by her brother Sherlock. However, the siblings have to work together in their search for a girl.

Millie Bobby Brown (18) is back and throws herself into her first real case as a detective as Enola Holmes in the second part of the franchise of the same name. However, she is overshadowed by her older brother and master detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill, 39). Everyone wants the help of the proven tracker, they don’t trust young Enola. But that’s about to change: Enola puts in a lot of effort for her first job, but the mystery of a missing girl is more difficult to solve than expected.

What happened in the first part?

In the first part, Enola Holmes lives with her mother Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter, 56) in a country house near London. Eudoria raises her daughter in a more alternative way, teaching her martial arts and playing tennis with her in the living room. On Enola’s 16th birthday, Eudoria suddenly disappears – reason for her older brothers to finally come back home. Snooty Mycroft (Sam Claflin, 36) and reserved Sherlock agree to put Enola in a girls’ home. She is to be civilized there in order to later find a good husband. However, the feminist Enola does not believe in the plans and prefers to go in search of her mother, who had previously left secret messages in the house – without consulting her brothers, of course.

On her flight to London, she meets Lord Viscount Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge, 19), who is also a fugitive. She quickly realizes that someone is after the young lord. Together they make it to the English capital before they part ways. But the two will not be without each other for long. As Enola searches for her mother, she finds more and more evidence that Tewkesbury is in danger. Can she track down the threat to the young lord and find her mother at the same time?

This is revealed in the trailer for “Enola Holmes 2”

The trailer for the second part shows that Enola Holmes is now officially a detective, like her big brother Sherlock. She even opened her own office. But the thing with the customers doesn’t really seem to work out yet. While Sherlock gets one job after the other, those seeking help doubt Enola’s qualities. After all, she is a woman and so young at that. Will she ever be allowed to solve an official case?

Redemption is coming soon. One day, a young girl appears in Enola’s office, looking for her sister. Of course, the young detective accepts the case and soon heads to London’s nightlife to follow her trail.

While Enola puzzles over her case, Sherlock has his troubles. The master detective despairs of his latest assignment. What he and Enola don’t realize at first: their cases seem to be closely connected. So will the siblings work together to reach their goal?

old faces

Enola Holmes fans were hoping for the return of one character in particular – Lord Viscount Tewkesbury. Already in the first part a shallow romance between him and Enola was looming. Shaped by her mother’s feminist ideals, the young detective did not fully engage with the lord. At the end of the first part, she even turned down his offer to move in with him and his family – many fans therefore suspected that the two parted ways in part one.

But the trailer gives reason to be happy: Lord Viscount Tewkesbury returns in the second part. Another scene already published by Netflix even shows that the two are getting much closer. The lord teaches Enola to dance in a romantic scene.

However, there is no trace of another: Mycroft Holmes, the older of the two Holmes brothers, cannot be seen in the trailer for the second part. It is not yet known if he will return for the sequel. For Enola, his absence might be welcome. In the first part he finally got on the rebel’s nerves.

Like the first part, “Enola Holmes 2” was directed by Harry Bradbeer. The screenplay is by Jack Thorne and Nancy Springer. Millie Bobby Brown is returning as a producer in addition to her starring role.

Enola Holmes 2 is available worldwide on Netflix starting Friday, November 4th.
