  • On November 4th, 2022 “Enola Holmes 2” starts on Netflix.
  • The all-star cast around Millie Bobby Brown is of course back too.
  • Netzwelt introduces you to the recurring characters and the cast in more detail.

In 2020, “Enola Holmes” convinced on Netflix with a brilliant cast and an imaginative, funny story. 2 years later we return to the Holmes family, its members and adventures.

Based on the books by Nancy Springer, the sequel “Enola Holmes 2” also takes us to a colorful and perhaps somewhat looser than historically accurate Victorian England. But who is in the cast this time and what role will Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill and Co. play?

Millie Bobby Brown is back as Enola Holmes

Made world famous by “Stranger Things”, Millie Bobby Brown is also at home in a second major Netflix franchise. In “Enola Holmes 2” she slips back into the role of Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister.

Through their eyes, we will once again explore 19th-century England, solving intriguing criminal cases and family mysteries. As one of Hollywood’s up and coming young actresses, Millie Bobby Brown also has a chance to showcase her talents as a co-producer in the sequel.

Henry Cavill delights again as Sherlock Holmes

Millie Bobby Brown co-stars with Henry Cavill as the legendary Sherlock Holmes. In the film series, however, this is still embodied by Cavill as a young, talented and not yet completely hardened detective. A nice refreshment from older literary and cinematic depictions of Holmes.

Though described and seen as reserved and cool, Cavill’s Holmes is a thoroughly charming and witty character. He also takes care of his young sister Enola and supports her in her self-discovery. This aspect between the two characters and siblings should also be expanded in the second part of the Netflix hit.

Shortly after leaving the Witcher series and returning to the DCU as Superman, the “Enola Holmes” series should be another safe bet for Cavill.

Louis Partridge returns as Lord Tewkesbury

For a really good movie, supporting characters are just as crucial as the main cast. Louis Partridge returns as the handsome Lord Tewkesbury in Enola Holmes 2. So Enola will meet her crush again.

Tewkesbury will continue to pursue his career as a reformer in the British House of Lords, but of course he will also try to win Enola’s heart. Will Enola ditch her loner role and join forces with him?

Fan favorite Helena Bonham Carter will reprise her role as Eudoria Holmes

Immortalized by her role as Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter films, Helena Bonham Carter is an acting great. She will reprise her role in Enola Holmes 2 as the mother of Sherlock, Mycroft, and Enola.

Enola inherited her fascination and commitment to civil rights, equality and women’s rights from her mother. It will be exciting to watch as they interact and learn from each other in the sequel.

Himesh Patel plays Doctor John Watson

After we had to do without him in the first part, Sherlock’s faithful assistant, Doctor John Watson, will finally appear in “Enola Holmes 2”. This role will be filled by Himesh Patel. He will be particularly important in the relationship with Sherlock, but Enola may also have some interactions with him.

As a new addition but an important character to the books, it’s very likely that he’ll play an important role in the plot. His appearance should also be guaranteed in further sequels.

Sharon Duncan-Brewster as the new antagonist

Sharon Duncan-Brewster is also a new addition to the cast of Enola Holmes 2. According to initial information, she will be something like a new female version of Moriarty. This nemesis of Sherlock Holmes has a long tradition in all film adaptations.

As Miss Mira Troy, she will wreak havoc across the country out of frustration with the government and restrictive Victorian society. With her cunning schemes and mysterious agents, she is a capable opponent for the Holmes. How will Enola and Sherlock manage to stop them?

The rest of the cast is also convincing

“Enola Holmes 2” also expands the supporting cast. Several smaller roles were filled by well-known series faces.

  • Adeel Akhtar, best known for the drama “Four Lions,” plays Inspector Lestrade, a “competitor” to Sherlock Holmes when it comes to detective work.
  • David Thewlis was last seen on Netflix in The Sandman. In “Enola Holmes 2” he embodies a corrupt police officer who works for Moriarty.
  • Susie Wokoma starred in Rules of the Game and the Netflix animated film The House. Now she embodies Eudoria Holmes’ good friend Edith in the “Enola Holmes” sequel.
  • Hannah Dodd, best known for another Netflix series set in a Victorian setting, Bridgerton, will play Sarah Chapman in Enola Holmes 2. The woman who led the match girl strike. A real event and inspiration for “Enola Holmes 2”.
