Entech: launch of a partnership on the second life of electric vehicle batteries

(Boursier.com) — Entech is coordinator of the ABR project (Automotive Batteries Reuse) supported by the Brittany Region, Quimper Western Brittany and Rennes Métropole, the consortium made up of Stellantis, Talendi, the University of South Brittany. In this context, Entech will work to develop second-life storage solutions for automotive batteries. “Developing a sector and innovations around the dismantling of automotive batteries, (diagnostics, safety, data, etc.) and solutions to optimize the second life of batteries”, such is the objective announced for ABR Project, carried by Entech and its partners.

The project benefits from financing by the Brittany region, Quimper Western Brittany and Rennes metropolitan area to the tune of 495.8 kE over 2 years.

The electric vehicle market should continue to grow in the years to come with an ever wider offer from manufacturers, and the democratization of charging stations in the territory. The development of a storage sector focused on second-life batteries is therefore possible, provided that innovations are implemented around the dismantling of automotive batteries and solutions to optimize the second life of batteries.

The ABR project follows two previous projects carried out by Entech, already oriented towards second life with the integration of packs Stellantis in container storage systems.
