VSaddie will no longer make plastic shopping carts. Indeed, the company, owned by the Cochez group, has announced that it will end its production, for environmental reasons.

“As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility and the reduction of plastic pollution, we have taken the decision to discontinue the Emotion range”, reads a press release in reference to this range of trolleys. of plastic supermarket.

“As the environmental impacts of plastic are of increasing concern, we are now refocusing on metal trolleys, known for their recyclability and environmental sustainability,” he added.

Reduce the amount of waste generated

The number of plastic trolleys produced each year by Caddy was not specified, but a spokesperson for the company told Agence France-Presse that they represented around 10% of all trolleys produced on Caddy’s only production site, in Dettwiller (Bas-Rhin).
